Sunday Walk and Ballenberg

Swiss cows hanging out in the meadow.

Between conference sessions we took a short walk in the woods and down by the zoo.

Kent's first visit to the petting zoo.  He was really nervous to climb in the goat enclosure but after some encouragement from his parents he did it!  And even managed to give the goat a pat.

The alpaca on the other side of the fence.

Monday my Scottish dad and I visited Ballenberg Museum in Brienz.  Ballenberg has homes from all over Switzerland divided into 10 different areas.  Most homes are open with period furnishing.  We enjoyed many crafts--bread making, wheat milling, wood sawing, tatting, watch making, nail making, etc.

A cow overlooking the Berner Oberland.

The top of tobacco plants.  They are about 10 feet tall with very cute flowers--I didn't know.

Heading into another house...

An old Ticino house.

We spent 6 hours hiking around popping in and out of houses and experiencing various handicrafts.  That was my 4th visit but together we experienced more and saw more than my other visits :)
