Grandson, Oeschinensee, Temple, Bern

Tuesday my dad and I drove to Grandson to visit Ursula, meet her boyfriend, and tour Chateau Grandson.
Lunch was fabulous!!!  And dessert was amazing!!!  Plum tortes with Ursula's typical creativeness, sehr lecker!!!

Views from the castle.

I even have my dad taking pics of chimneys, now :)

Cute cafe on our walk to the castle from Ursula's.

Wednesday the forecast was for sun in Kandersteg, so off we headed...where we found lots of rain and fog.

It didn't dampen our spirits, we hike with gusto...
up to the lake we couldn't see!
But no worries, we enjoyed some apple strudel and ice cream :)

After our hike, we stopped to visit some friends in Kandersteg.  We admired their dead tree find (used as a plant hanger)....
and his childhood rock dropped off one day by his brother.

We had a lovely visit waiting for the sun to shine, which never did, but our hearts were filled with laughter :)
 Cute cows, too!

Thursday was omelette day with grandpa teaching Nate his techniques.  Nate created the smiling face.

My dad and I enjoyed a lovely visit to the temple (pics in the rain :)

Friday was a tour of Bern
from the bear pits to the Münster Cathedral to the Bundesplatz with vintage shops,
souvenir shops,
guild houses,
and then the embassy for flu shots.  Grandpa treated us to kebabs (thanks to Kent's appeal to fill his belly after his mom's inadequate lunch suggestions).

And another cute chimney by the Bear Pits.  Can you believe there is smoke already flowing through the chimneys?
Wet but happy Days!
