Barker Family Reunion

After Nate's Saturday morning soccer game we all headed north to Elba, Idaho for the Barker Family Reunion.  We convoyed with Ken and Lily where we met up in Bear River.  After a wonderful lunch we enjoyed some family games.  Nate volunteered to be the official "spinner" for the piñata game.

But had to have his hits, too!

The older boys played horseshoes.

Then round two of the piñata smash.

The official onlookers.

and the loot!!

Then the family auction to raise money for next year's bash.  Grandma's jean quilt was one of the top items.  Patty even bid herself up, just to ensure she would take it home.

The Brady Boys and cousins headed out to City of Rocks for some afternoon bouldering.

Elephant Rock

 More bouldering with successful ascents

Loving the perspective!

This is how the boys hike--tossing the football up and over and around, then picking out the prickly thorns when it is not caught :(

Day two included a wonderful Idaho breakfast of bacon, sausage, eggs, pancakes (plain and blueberry), biscuits and gravy, cantaloupe, peaches, OJ, hot chocolate and sweet breads.

Then a visit to the old Homer homestead.

And another hike or two at City of Rocks

Fun times!  I love our beautiful world!!!
