Sister Visit

Cindy arrived on my birthday.  We headed from the airport straight to Luzerne for a day on the town.

We hiked all over town, on the old wall, up the towers and back down.  I asked Cindy to go back up for a pic and she thought I meant all the way back up the tower.

Not the nicest weather out on the Vierwaldstättersee but go we did!

The next morning we biked into Bern to visit the farmers' market, buy our cheese and bread, then off to  the Cailler Chocolate Factory (Nathan was happy to accompany us) then to the Gruyere Castle.

One of our three spring days this year.  Dan, Erin, Kent and Ryan ran the Bern Grand Prix (10 mile race through Bern and right in front of our house) while Cindy, Tim and Tim's colleague, Bob and I visited Thun.  Great chimneys!

Raclette dinner after all the racing and touring.  All four finished with good times.  Kent took 2nd place in his age group.

After church and a nice dinner, Erin and I drove Cindy, Tim and Bob to Strasbourg, France.  The Notre Dame is behind us, at least the portion you can see down the street.

Notre Dame in the twilight--just so gorgeous and delicate for something so grand.  It is the 4th tallest church in the world.  When it was built it was the tallest building in the world.

Even in the rain, La Petite France was delightful.  We enjoyed hearing and speaking french but you could also throw in the german and all was understood :)

From here, Tim, Cindy and Bob headed to Paris, Karen back to Nürnberg while Erin and I drove home.  Great times together--good food, good water, good touring!
