Nate's 10th

To celebrate Erik's 20th, Nate scheduled his party on Erik's birthday (well, it was also the Saturday).

 Good friends joined him in the celebration: Ryan, Jamal, Donovan, Josh, Nate, Jan, Dugan, Noah and Jack.  Jethro arrived part way through the games but Ufuk had a soccer tournament all day.

Nate planned the entire party, with the time schedule, the games, the lunch and cake.  The Popsicle Stick Elevator was the hardest game but Jan managed the most patience!

The Marble Drop was more successful but still frustrating with the number of marbles that landed on target but then bounced out.  It was quite the celebration when they succeeded :)

Face the Cookie was fun regardless of whether they succeeded or not--they all ate the cookie.  The object was to place the cookie on the forehead then with only the facial muscles, move the cookie into the mouth.  The facial expressions were awesome!

Erin was just demonstrating but managed to actually accomplish the task.

Celebrate the success!!!

This team managed to get all the cookies successfully from forehead to mouth.  They certainly didn't mind trying this over and over again.

On to the next game: Balloon Cup Blow.  The object was to blow up the balloon, use the air in the balloon to blow the 5 plastic cups across the table and onto the floor.

This was a normal competition until Jethro arrived.

Jethro has been hiding his talent and managed to blow the competition away.  It finally took 3 kids working against him to give him any competition.

Great lunch!  Nathan insisted on homemade pizza, which I made in the morning then just warmed up for lunch.  I have never received so many compliments on pizza from so many 10 year olds (it was totally worth the extra effort!)

Then his cake choice: Cow Patty Cake

The kids said it was the best cow patty they'd ever eaten (thanks to Amina's great recipe and the fact that it really wasn't a cow patty).

Great party, great friends!  Even the rain held out for us :)
