Prague, Czech Republic

We drove to Prague and parked the car in this teeny, tiny garage which was like an elevator with several cars parked above and below.

Then we went in search for our apartment.

We finally found it (yellow on left, 2nd floor) and some pizza for dinner.

Prague Castle was our first visit, in the rain, with friends from Bern.

 This is Golden Alley along one of the walls at the castle--lots of cute rooms, restored to early 1900's.  The kids each learned to shoot a cross bow at one of the exhibits.

We found a hall of mirrors next to the tower.  We actually got a family picture, just missing Erik, can you find the parents?

Always in search of the playgrounds but we also found some sunshine!

We passed this just after we were kicked out of a playground along the river.  Not sure if we were really kicked out but the guy who was yelling at us in Czech seemed rather upset.

Brief rest before our visit to the Botanical Gardens at Charles University (oldest university in Europe).

 There were several funny faces and animals hidden in the rock formations.  Kept the kids busy enough to rest their weary legs after we dragged them from one side of the city to the other (literally--Hradcany Palace, Wenceslas Square, Charles Square and University, through the old town and to the other side).

Astronomical Clocks at the Old Town Square

Can't remember the name of this bread (tredl)--they roll it onto the rollers and let it raise on the walls (see back wall) then cook them over the heaters as they roll along.  Very tasty!
