We finally made our Christmas candies since our Thanksgiving holidays (or lack of) changed our candy making schedule. We had all the ingredients except the red food coloring. How can you do Christmas without red?
We twisted and cut and burnt our fingers but we managed a bowl full of non-red Christmas candies.
Christmas Eve day we went skiing which was a Moroccan adventure in Switzerland. Car trouble on the way up, so we took the bus. Unfamiliar trails and layout at Adelboden but after skiing cross country trails in downhill skis or skiing roads with lots of kids and buses, we all made it back to where we started :)
We made it home by 7:30 and enjoyed a Swiss Raclette dinner by the fireside. Raclette consists of grilling potatoes, bacon, and/or vegetables on the top rack while melting cheese underneath then pouring the melted cheese over the other on your plate. Pineapple can also be included in the mix and then topped with a raclette spice.
After dinner we enjoyed the reading of the nativity with our olive wood nativity figurines and Christmas carols.

After opening the Christmas PJs we then tried smores using the raclette. It toasted the marshmallows well but melted the chocolate too much since most of it dripped off the crackers before it was actually consumed.
Merry Christmas!
Frohe Weinachten!
