It's been 13 and 1/2 years since we Hawaii. These two boys were born here and had the fewest memories. We landed on Thursday and drove immediately to Kailua Beach Park. Lots of pics here of the little kids but the grass is now covered with sand.
The boys leaped and jumped in the water (only to discover Portuguese man o' war) but no stings the first night.
Then the digging began--digging and creating, digging and molding. The first of many creations.
Friday morning we hiked up to Makea Falls with Paige (niece/cousin). One of our favorite hikes with our little kids. All the branches were referred to by the kids as "the playground".
We enjoyed brunch at our favorite pancake house in Kaneohe then headed to Pearl Harbor. It was too windy to take the boat out over the Arizona so we absorbed all the history from the wonderful new exhibits. Then off to Ko'olina to enjoy the western side of the island.
Friday we drove to the North Shore, enjoying Matsumoto's shave ice, chocolate haupia pie, and swimming with the fish at Three Tables.

and then body boarding at Hukilau Beach.
Then we met our friends, the Tuellers for a jungle foray to Wailea Falls with some swimming and jumping.
A quick stop at Chinaman's Hat and more stories of the very sick camping trip at the same park and lots of speed bumps that brought up more emesis with each hump.
