Gimmelwald

Erin, Felicia and I left cloudy Bern to find blue skies in Lauterbrunnen.
 Walking up the valley...
 and into the alps.
Half way up to Gimmelwald, looking back down the valley.
Check out the "snow fall" in the middle of the pic.  It sounded like thunder.  We enjoyed several snow falls during the day.
 Smiles for all!
Snow and summer all mixed together--and yes, the Swiss believe dandelions are alpine wild flowers.
But we can't forget the garden gnomes standing around in the snow, patiently waiting for summer!
The world painting in our hostel included Gimmelwald and Portland!!
The view from Gimmelwald down to the valley.
  And of course, cute chimneys!
Flowers in town, looking like a giant heart :)
Checking out the view from our hostel windows!
Warming up with our backs on the heater while eating dark chocolate (yum)
Sludging down from Mürren the next day in the rain, sleet and snow, 2 girls in tennis shoes.
Not sure the trail was really ready for us yet.
But we made it safe and sound and thoroughly enjoyed a hot shower/bath and hot cup of tea.
