We have been playing a game--Carcassonne--that we received for Christmas 2 years ago. We really enjoy the game so decided to go visit the real thing.
All 4 boys on our way up to the castle.
The game includes many tiles that are used to build medieval cities with farms, castles, roads, towers, cathedrals and monasteries. The pieces are played as knights, farmers, thieves or monks. Ryan has played one of his pieces as a thief on the road.
and mom is a farmer.
and Nate is another thief but maybe too close to the castle.

A lovely, evening stroll around the double fortifications of the Cité.
Then a later evening walk to find the Carcassonne chapel.
Still looking but we did find it just up around the bend :)

After a wonderful morning of church with the Carcassonne ward, including another family visiting from Switzerland, we headed to 4 Chateaux de Lastours for a family walk. The kids thought I should add this to my chimney collection which was at the start of our walk.

we found our family!
Then down to the old city ruins and a refreshing walk in the creek.
