Strasbourg Weihnachtsmarkt

Nate doesn't have enough friends, so he made himself a good buddy.

Dan and I needed to run to the base in Kaiserslautern, Germany so we stayed a night in Strasbourg to enjoy the city and the Weihnachtsmarkt (Christmas Market).  Dan walking down the stairs in our hotel.

The view from the front door of our hotel.

Dan thought the dog in the guitar case was quite cute.  Not sure how the man could play the guitar in the cold.

At the market.

One of 4 scenes in the Nativity inside the Notre Dame Cathedral.  The first was the angel appearing to Mary, the second was the typical nativity, the third was the wise men trekking with their camel and elephant and the fourth was the baby Jesus being presented at the temple.

The decorations on many of the houses were rather amazing.

The light show on Place Kleber.  It was similar to the Bundeshaus Light Show but not nearly as good.

The HUGE tree on Place Kleber.

These life size figures are carved out of wood.  It's the first time I've seen Mary look like she just delivered a child--lying down with baby Jesus at her side.

The night view of the Notre Dame.
Joyeux Noel!
