Christmas Day

Waiting patiently Christmas morning for the adults to be ready :)

Stocking finds of the boys

and the Roths.

Suspenders from Erin

3 Scarf girls

Nate's favorite gift from Grandpa Cragun

Mom's favorite gift painted on silk by Nathan and his two friends, Jack and Ufuk.

We played games all morning then the Roths drove to Thun and Luzern while our family enjoyed our  3rd annual Christmas dinner with Ursula, Peter, Lorenz, Phillipe, Stephanie and Theo :)

Ursula's beautiful flower arrangement.

Philipe, Theo and Stephanie

Amazing Apero of specialty sandwiches--so colorful and lecker!

The boys enjoying the tasty appetizers, Kent enjoying more than his fair share :)

Chocolates and treats from Jutta who was with her sister.

Dinner time, Ursula and Peter prepared a fabulous green curry and rice followed by fruit and the best lebkuchen ever.

Peter and Theo waiting for dinner to finish so we can light the tree.

The lighting of the tree.

 with 40 candles

Enjoying the light although Erin is a bit worried that one of the candles might cause the tree to go up in flames, perhaps even the house.  We discussed our emergency plans and learned that Phillipe was a fire fighter so he would save the day.  Ryan's plan: grab the chocolates in the other room and run out the back door.  Good to know we all have a plan.
We enjoyed singing and chatting while we watched every candle burn out completely, making sure Ursula would have no cause for alarm Christmas Night.  I am so grateful for the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ; grateful that he "increased in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man" (Luke 2:52) fulfilling his role as our Redeemer, Savior and Prince of Peace.
Merry Christmas to All!!
