Erin and I hiked up the canyon to the Gasterntal Valley. Kandersteg is the view in the distance.
Friday, Erin and I left for a hike after the scouts made us a great pancake breakfast. We took the Sunnbühl cable car to start our 5 hour hike across this valley and over the next ravine to the Gemmi Pass.
We found snow and had to traipse through more and more.
Half way through there was a lovely hotel with lots of lunch tables set. We couldn't imagine that they would all be full but when we returned 3 hours later, they were.

We made it to the top of Leukerbad to find a ropes course rather high in the sky (we passed on this one).

More snow. Only once did I fall through up to my thigh :)
I heard of yellow snow, but red? The earth wasn't red so we couldn't figure out what caused it--any ideas? It wasn't just localized. Every bit of snow that we passed had this red tint.
This reminded us of Giant's Causeway in Ireland, just on a much smaller scale.
We are heading to the clouds but it wasn't cloudy when we got there.
