Friendly Family Competition

It was a beautiful, sunny day, so the Brady family headed out for a friendly competition in the Emmental woods.

Happily, hiking out to our first competition site...

 the Tower.

Teams: Young Ones (Kent, Ryan, Nate)
Older Ones (Erin, Mom, Dad)

First task:  climb the tower fastest.
We all started with a hand on the tree, then ran to the start.  Kent ensured that his teammates made it to the entrance first, after which, given the narrow stairways, we had no chance to pass.

Young Ones won the first event but allowed us all to pose together.

Such great views we all enjoyed.
Berner Oberland alps across the back.

Erin 'painted' this with a feature on my new camera that she just loves.

Second task: Capture the flag/frisbee.

Young Ones won 2 to 0 based on the fact that their field was covered in ankle deep snow and our field had no such obstacles.  Not sure if their sprinting stamina had anything to do with their winning.

Then a drive to the school gym, found the chicken wagon along the way and we picked up some bread and gipfelis for a quick lunch before the second round of games.
 Love the chimneys in Emmental!

Third Task: Indoor Ultimate
After a few disputations based on playability of frisbee off side walls vs. curtains, the Older Ones won 10 to 7.

Fourth Task: Basketball game.
Ok, the Older Ones lost again but...
we really didn't want them to go home in tears.
