Arriving in Bern

The city of Bern along the Aare River. Our hotel for the first 2 nights was about 4 blocks from the river on either side. The Aare River does a horseshoe around the Old Town of Bern. The water flows from the glaciers in the alps. It is cold, clear and teal.
Just across from our hotel was the Parliament Building (in the background). The kids first found the fountains and tried them out in their regular clothes. We decided the next time to don the swimsuits first. It reminded them of Tualatin so they realized they really hadn't moved that far:)
Nate and Ryan
Kent eating dinner at a pizza place just across from the Parliament. Kent wasn't the only one eating. We ordered a few pizza and some carbonara pasta, but to get additional plates was 3 CHF/plate ($4.50)--we shared:)
We were all still a bit off schedule (still are) but always ready to eat.
