Skiing with the school was cancelled yesterday due to high winds in the mountains. So we went to Grindelwald for our snow fix and to see the Ice Sculpture competition. The theme was pioneering.
The USA entry was chiseled by 5 Tims. It reminded us of a James Christensen design. From the front you can see he is pedaling a bi-plane. Not sure if his load is balloons or grapes.
Russia's theme was "Out of the Box." On the other side there is the imprint of someone trying to get out, on the left there are large hands coming out of the box, trying to lift it and on the right there are feet coming out of the top.
France's entry included the sails that led people to the Americas.

And poor Switzerland, their sculpture must have collapsed mid week.
We took a quick walk through town. The boys quickly broke off and started a snowball fight while Erin and I went shopping and found the bakery.
But then we found the boys again so we had to share our treats :)
