We got our snow tires on our car so we just had to go somewhere:
We started at the amphitheater in Avenches--it was cold but only flurries for our new tires.
The boys reenacted an amphitheater exhibit for us.
Then on to the chateau. It's always beautifully lit up at night when we drive past on the highway. I particularly liked the blue and red striped shutters. But I mostly like that they really cover the windows :)

We then found some Roman baths and could see a wall/gate up on the horizon. So, being the mean parents that we are (Erik can attest to this fact), we made the kids hike up to the wall with us. We found a neat tower with wooden steps to the top and a hidden hole in the wall where Kent disappeared to scare Erin when she passed by :)
