We had such a great time visiting Grandpa and Grandma Cragun. So much sun we couldn't stop squinting! We played at the park, roller bladed, played basketball and volleyball, floated boats, jogged, ate, had air hockey competitions, shared talents, etc.
We went hiking at Gem Lake. It was frozen so Dad and I posed while the kids and Dan were all trying to break the ice. Of course, Erin was on the sidelines shouting various warnings. But, even with all the rocks and boulders that they threw on the ice, it held fast!
We visited City of Rocks National Reserve where we didn't see another soul, except a few rabbits. The snow was awesome for making snowballs so they kids enjoyed lots of snow throwing competitions.
We drove through Almo and Elba, Idaho so were able to visit the great grandparents.
Then we stopped at Grandpa and Grandma Taylor's home and enjoyed a fabulous visit with Aunt Sandra, Uncle Vearl and other family we hadn't seen for a long while. After our delectable farm cooked meals Nathan is convinced he wants to be a farmer. Maybe it was driving the quads and visiting the cows and horse and collecting rocks off the truck that convinced him more. We had a great time and Nathan was planning a return trip with Uncle Vearl to learn to fish.
Hoku especially enjoyed being on the farm (after 44 hours in a car with 7 others in one week) and fraternizing with the other dogs!
