For the last trip of the summer, we headed to Central Oregon with some friends in our ward, the Julianas. We stopped to view Three Sisters (one is hiding behind the other so we could really just see two of them). In front are some of the lava fields from the Belknap Volcano which is now just Belknap Crater.
Our original plan was to hike to Benson Lake but due to recent forest fires the trails were closed. We drove about 5 miles further down the road and started our hike to Linton Lake.

The weather was beautiful, the scenery was fabulous and the boys all found walking sticks--who could ask for more?

Nate needed some down time. He found a great, concave rock, just calling his name where Hoku joined him.

The sun was shining so the lake was calling. It was a bit brisk but the majority made the plunge!

It was a fabulous trip for Labor Day and Tuesday. Now the kids have to start thinking of more serious things--getting up, packing lunches and bags and hitting the homework. I'm already looking for the next weekend we can get away:)
