Carvings

I sort of forgot about carving pumpkins this year.  On Halloween morning Nathan asked about a pumpkin, hmmm...  The first grocery store had no pumpkins, anywhere!  On Halloween day, no pumpkins?!?  I got a honeydew melon.  The second store had a few left over so I grabbed a rather oblong, unbalanced pumpkin.  Okay, I won't wait so long next year.  However, Nathan managed the above creation after school, finished just in time to present on our front porch for the many trick-or-treaters.  Apparently,  not satisfied,  he carved the melon the day after Halloween.  The melon is Elle's favorite, she gives it a few licks every time she goes in the back yard.  She finally found a friend!!
Now the kids are singing Christmas music :)
